Somebody seemed to think a person who can see nuts in a package, wants to buy nuts, purchased the nuts, because that is what they wanted is so stupid they need a warning on the back of the package saying the package may contain trace peanuts and nuts. That is the general idea. You buy nuts to eat them. Would somebody who is allergic to nuts buy a container they can see has nuts and peanuts, and take them home, and eat those nuts, knowing it would make them sick? I guess the lawyers must have wanted this wording to keep the terminally stupid from suing the pants off the company for eating something they could clearly see had things they should not eat inside.
