I had put off going to the dentist for many years. As a result, I had acquired numerous problems that I am sure were drug related. Right before my dentist visit, I had heard a story of a young addict in recovery. She had spoken about how she had relapsed after going to the dentist. This was due to the pain killers that were prescribed to her in a routine office visit.
Now, I know that body loves that stuff. Being a recovered heroin addict, my brain knows an opiate in any form at all. With the knowledge of this information to me, it is obvious that if I took in one pill, I could possibly set off the allergy. The difference in my allergy is that instead of breaking out in hives, I may well break out in handcuffs. So what does someone like me do if I have to go through some painful dental procedures?
