I took is a short clip back in 2006 of one of the most fascinating fish I'd ever kept, a Black Ghost Knifefish. They are sooooo cool when the swim.
Sparky was only 4" or so & still in my 10gal. quarantine tank in that clip. He was surprisingly curious guy. He just had to check it out the tunnel house as soon as I introduced into the tank.
Later I had moved him into a slightly bigger & longer tank with some other fish. At first I was worried that one of the other fish I had in with him would attack him. Then I saw him face off against Jaguar, a young Ornate Bichir over a chunk of brine shrimp.
LOL! Sparky barely touched the Bichir on the top of the head with the tip of his tail and the Bichir nearly jumped outta the tank!!! Jag was thrashing back & forth across the entire length of the top of the tank for about 2- 3 mins before she settled & found a place to hide.
Jag was the more aggressive of our 2 Ornates too. I knew BGK were a weakly electric fish, but I didn't think Sparky was big enough yet to deliver a jolt strong enough to change Jag's mind.
Sparky was a really fun fish to watch.....too bad I developed an allergy to algae and had to get out of the Aquarium hobby. Author: SC0RePIO
